prealgebra formula

Holla guys and gals! Recently I hired a private tutor to help me with some topics in algebra. My problem areas included topics such as prealgebra formula and subtracting exponents. Now that teacher turned out to be so dumb , that instead of helping me now I’m even more confused than I used to be. I still can’t solve problems on those topics. And the exam time is nearing. I need someone to help me out. Is there anything in particular that can be done to get some sort of help? I have a good set of questions to help me learn these topics, but the problem is I just can’t crack them, no matter how much effort I put in. Please help!

I am a student turned tutor; I give classes to junior school children. Along with the regular mode of explanation, I use Algebrator to solve questions practically in front of the students.

I remember having problems with mixed numbers, long division and trigonometric functions. Algebrator is a really great piece of math software. I have used it through several math classes - Intermediate algebra, Intermediate algebra and College Algebra. I would simply type in the problem and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
